Operations other than war (OOTW) are those military operations, which are conducted in situations of conflict other than war. The aim of conducting an OOTW is to maintain or restore peace and stability of the country. Counter-Terrorism Operations - Terrorism is the use or threatened use of violence on a systematic basis to achieve political objectives. It may or may not be sponsored by state actors. Terrorism is said to be the latest form of warfare waged by the weak to achieve political objectives.
Aid to Civil Authorities -
During peacetime, the Army conducts operations to assist the Civil Authorities as they prepare for or respond to crisis and relieve suffering.
Peacekeeping Operations -
Peacekeeping operations may be defined as operations carried out with the consent of the belligerent parties in support of efforts to achieve or maintain peace in order to promote security and sustain life in areas of potential or actual conflict.
